Upgrade to SAP BW 7.0 from 3.1: Impact on Business Content

Hello,

We have recently migrated from SAP BW 3.1 to SAP BW 7.0 version.

During this migration the version of all the info objects / info providers was kept as 3.x only. So, data loading and other processes related to them remained same as in 3.1. But when we tried to Install the BI Inventory content the version of the info objects has changed to: 7.0/02. and all the info objects are in 'Revised' version.

My question is : If we activate these new versions of Info objects, will the associated processes of Data Loading etc. be impacted? If, Yes, is there some way to rollback, so that the version of info objects resets to 3.1

Hi,

I think you can make your question some more explainable.anyway whatever i interpreted the answer is : It will not have the Impact on Data Loading and other associated processes.if you want that the version of infobject resets to 3.x,you can migrate using WITH EXPORT.

Once you install business content - the modified version is set to the active version and this cannot be undone - would advise caution while doing so.
