Hallo Experts,

if you build a new query and you want to filter one value for an InfoObject there are two ways to do that.

1. move the InfoObject into the query-definition and filter the value.

2. filter the value at first and move this value with the InfoObject into the query-definition.

By doing way number 2 there are sometimes no values to filter (in case of the InfoObject is defined with no master data).

but if you use way one there are always values? Why is this like that? In case we use BI 7.0 and Front-End 3.5.

Thank you very much.

Hi,

In both the cases you should get the value the only difference is: after droping the Object under Row selection and when you restrict the object it always opens an new popup window giving master data values.

In second option when you goto the dimensions and select object, you try to drill down there itself for selecting master data. If your master data table contain only few entries like 8 or 10 then it will shows on same screen otherwise it gives the same popup as you recieve in case one.

Hope it helps.
