Frank, getting to know those things is nothing you can learn by reading a forum, "experience" is the key. If you never dealt with doing an Oracle backup/restore/recovery, giving you "step-by-step" lists won't be of much help if you don't know, what the system is actually doing.

Not blaming you, everyone did start at one point but having a list of transaction codes and step-by-step guides how to do something with the database won't make neither you nor your future company happy.
