Heii Bharat ,

You can make it

Using workflow, one can manage various tasks or steps to be executed by different users (based on users or roles). As per one user can have more than one role and for one role we can have more than one user.

As in console Define the role for user in field table and make it read or write.

in case of data manger as we have the steps :

all concurent,

all sequential random,

all sequential order,

any single

if we have any single by this we can restrict the user.

Do all the validations properly.

Hope it help.

Please reward if you find it useful.

Hi Bharat,

Yes u can allow only one user to edit, modify and delete any of the validation, , assignments and workflows.and restricting rest of the four users not to perform the mentioned (validation, assignment, workflows) operations through WORKFLOW.

Using workflow, one can manage various tasks or steps to be executed by different users (based on users or roles).

A master data object record (one or group of objects) can be subjected to a desired workflow. Each user can be assigned different objects or group of objects, user tasks, validations, escalations, approvals, splitting of jobs etc.

If U want to know more about WORKFLOW ,Im sending u a very basic material through this link which will help u create and use workflow.

Plz reward points if u find this helpful.

Hi Bharat,

There are two ways of doing this:

1) In Import Manager-> Configuration Options-> Checkout/Workflow-> Choose checkout. Now Import the source file. This will automatically checkout all the imported records in Data Manager. Now login through Admin. Right click on the records-> Modify Join permission->Add the users/roles to whom you want to give the access to update/ validate etc on those records.

Then login with those users and join the checkout. Then those users will be allowed to do edit, update, modify, validate etc on those records

2)Through workflow (this has been already explained to you by other users).

Reward with points if helpful

Hi Bharat,

Firstly User and Roles mean

Users. mainly refer to those User-based assignments allow you to explicitly specify which user or users should be responsible for performing the step.

Roles. Role-based assignments allow you to specify roles rather than users, with the actual users determined by MDM at runtime

FOR WORKFLOW:

Multiple users or roles can be assigned to a single step of workflow. MDM allows you to specify the Execution Type property for each step as it relates to: (1) whether either any single assignee or all of them must perform the step; and (2) if all of them, sequential or parallel execution among the multiple assignees of the step.

Similarly, multiple steps can be organized into a single group, and MDM allows you to specify the Execution Type property for the group as it relates to: (1) whether either any single step or all of them must be performed; and (2) if all of them, sequential or parallel execution among the multiple steps of the group.

The options for the Execution Type property of a step (for the assignees of a step) and of a group (for the steps of a group) are summarized in the table below.

FOR SEARCH :

Apart from Workflow as far as search option is concerned MDM has IViews provide various privilages at to various users

MDM IViews have the advantage that they are not complex in structure and are therefore not restricted by any underlying schema structure. As opposed to regular iViews in other systems which are embedded into the pages on which they appear, MDM iViews are more generic and granular in nature enabling their placement on a page to be more adaptable.

Hope it will suffice to hint you

hi,

es it is possible to restrict:

In console > defining the role of that user in tables and fields tab> make validations and workflow read/write for the respective users.

in data manager: in the workflow stencil,

for steps ( proces, approve, etc.,) we will give execution tpes( all concurent, all sequential random, all sequential order, any single), if you select any single, based on that you can restrict the users.

hope this may help you,

Hi,

Yes it is possible to restrict only one user to edit, modify and delete any of validations, assignments and workflows. This can be done in 2 ways:

1)In console while defining the role of that user in tables and fields tab make validations and workflow read/write and for other users same should be read only.

2)In data manager while designing the workflows execution type should be defined as a Any single.so that only that user can edit/modify and delete them.

I hope this will help you.

hi,

have a look at page: 150

of this document:
