How can I tell, from the OS level, if TP is running?
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
Open the task manager, sort the processes by name and check if tp.exe is running.

or in a windows 2003 based command box (cmd.exe) run
tasklist | findstr -i tp
