change WBS identification for a project

Hi experts!

My question is about WBS identification in a project.

My client want to change the WBS identification of the project. thus i have changed the identification for the head WBS and for project definition. I thought that we can change it for all the structure by Project --> Derive Structure but it's written some error message: "Could not find a superior WBS element for WBS element "

it's normal because i have just changed it.

i 'd like to change it automatically in mass, not element by element. how can I make it. and finally, what is the aim of "derive structure" ?

Dear benny

U cannot use mass change function to change the WBS code, instead use the easy entry tool which u have customized in OPSK.

The basic aim of the derive structure is as follows:

Ex: ur coding mask for the project is "D.000.0.0.0.0" and u have entered the WBS elemenst as shown

D.001 POC Project with network

D.001.1 BUILDING

D.001.2 EQUIPMENT

When u use derive structure automatically the levels for the WBS Elements shall be derived and they are placed hierarchially.
