Generic Data Sources.

Hi,

I am new to SAP BW.I am working on Generic data sources.

As i am going thru the documents, i came across the "LO Extractor", What it is mean. it is any kind of Extractor. If Yes. how many such kind of Extractiot are there.

Please provide necessary information.

Hi Santosh,

LO extraction is an application specific extraction methodolgy used to extract data from all logistics modules in R/3. it is explained very well in the follwoing thread:

Hi,

There are 2 types of Extractor.

1. Application specific

2. Cross application

under application specifi extractor there are 2 more extractor type.

1. BW content extractor : all your SAP delivered extractors for each applications. like LO for logistics, FI for Finacial information, etc.

2. Customer genarated extgractor: where user as the fle

xiblity to change the extrator fileds, like CO-PA,LIS,FI-SL.

In cross application extractor all the generic extractor created by user as per rquirement. ex. creating views.

Hi,

well you concern on Lo extarction was answered,

now let me answer about:how many such kind of Extractiot are there"

we have different kinnd's of extraction

1.LO extraction:chk the above post

2.generic extraction:we will go for it if sap defined business content objects won't fulfill your business requirement

3.customer gerated extarctors like CO-Pa

in order to find out the difference between co-pa and LO extarction
