Infotypes and Tables - architecture question

Former Member

Hi

1. Is it true that all the PA Infotypes have one table that stores all the data related to the Infotype? (eg Table PA0008 contains the data for Infotype PA0008). What about PD and PP Infotypes?

2. Im asking this question from a logging point of view. We wish to log all the changes that may be made by the HR users while using the HCM module. I understand that there are two types of logging available - Infotype logging and Table logging. Therefore, if we activate Infotype logging, are all the tables related to the Infotype logged (so that we can forget about turning the table logging on), or do we still need to activate the table logging for certain tables that might not have been automatically logged by Infotype logging?

Any help will be appreciated

Thanks

Hi,

There can be more than 1 table for a single infotype.for eg,infotype 45.in this infotype pa0078 should also be taken into consideration.

Is there then a table that provides a mapping of which tables are relevant for which infotypes?

Also, would you know if while logging changes in Infotypes (through V_T585A, V_T585B and V_T585C), changes made in both the tables (pa0078 and pa0045 for IT45) will be logged?

Please refer to table T777D which provides the infotype - table link.
