APO-DP/APO-SNP technical documentation

Hi folks,

I am a newbie to SCM and APO. I am looking for technical documentation about APO-DP and APO-SNP configuration. I am going to work as technical analyst and shall answer technical questions/issues concerning these modules.

Could you please provide me with technical documentation about APO-DP, APO-SNP and liveCache technology? (<b>SCM 5.0</b>)

I am specially interested in issues with liveCache (what has to be adjusted when new backend systems will be connected to APO) and how to configure and monitor the connections to the backend ECC/BW. As well as I would like to know basic technical facts about SCM/APO, such as how to find out (TA codes) which systems are actually connected to APO, their connection/interface status and things like that. I am an absolute newbie to that.

Thanks in advance for your kind help. Matthias

Starting point can be the SCM Wiki <a href="https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/SCM/AdvancedPlanningOptimization">APO</a> page. Please note these pages have been painstakanly put in by users like you and me. Its worthwhile to go go through them (however small the information may be). But some useful technical stuff (BADIs, Function Modules) and functional stuff is there in the APO pages links SCM Master Data, CIF, APO-Technical.

As regards liveCache for most of us functional consultants (others pardon me) is a BLACK BOX. You best option is to go through the <a href="https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/MaxDB">MaxDB Wiki</a>.

Of course you are more than welcome to post your queries - but please search in the forum as it can give answer to your query. There are already many good thread replies on basic APO-DP and SNP.

Regards,

Somnath

Hi guys,

thanks a lot for your quick replies. I will check the wiki and BP sites. However, I will keep this query open. Perhaps anyone has more information on this. Thanks!

Matthias
