Hi all,

I am basis person and recently did configuration for BI , now we are setting up scenario for MI

but according to Mi config guide ,

To configure the MI usage type automatically perform the following steps:

R...

1. Call the SAP NetWeaver Administrator in a browser using the path

http://<host>:<httpport>/nwa and log on to the SAP NetWeaver Administrator

with the user Administrator.

2. Call the template installer on the tab page Deploy & Change → Template Installer.

During the installation, the system offers you the scenario and the corresponding

templates in accordance with your selection.

3. Choose the scenario MI and the template 00 - MI Post Installation Process

from the list and then choose Execute Template.

But when i login to my netweaver 2004s system nerweaver administrator , and i go to deploy and change

option i can see only NWA scenario but not MI scenario , but when i logon to one of our MI system

i get both scenarios for template installer ,

how do i get MI scenario ????

Is there anything to be done to activate MI in netweaver 2004s system ???

Best Regards,

AJitR

Hi Ajju,

There may be two reasons why the PostInstallProcess template is invisible:

1) The usage type usage type is not installed.

2) The information about the usage types that are installed is incorrect.

For details please refer to SAP Note 964988 - BIPostInstallProcess not visbile in template installer.

NOTE: It speaks about BI Usage type , But I hope that you can use it for your MI Usagetype also...

Also you may refer

Note 883948 - NW 7.0(2004s): Inst.Add.Java Usage Types/Software Units.

Note 923359 - Collective Note: Configuration Wizard - Template Installer

Note 717510 - Release Restrictions SAP Mobile Infrastructure 2.5

Note 1053586 - Correct function module for CTC template

Please do revert back with the status after you have tried the soluction suggested in the SAP Note.

Does that mean in my BI netweaver 2004s system i need to install uasge type

MI using sapinst installation master CD then this MI scenario would be visible.

Yes,

You need to have MI Usage type Installed on your SAP System.

And then only you would have the option for CTC Template installer for MI ...

Prem,

Installation is done for MI now i am talking about configuration of MI is the guide mentioned by me is what all requires for MI configuration ?

As installation is done now , any other specific content like we do Example :

for BI content , for XI the xi content need to be uploaded in MI system ?

should i make client copy of client 001 and use it for Mi config , MJC service should be with newly created client ?

I am following the guide Installation of SAP Mobile

Infrastructure 2.5 SPS20

I have not aware about MI Usage type.

MI 2.5 SPS20 is based on WAS 640 and not NW04s (WAS 7.00).

MI 7.0 is applicable for NW04s ....

I suggest you to please refere the SAP NW04s SR1 Installation , configuration guides ...
