Hi
The difference between the project and DC is Reusability concept. The Developement component is of any type may be a webdynpro java, normal java or a webservice Suppose i want to use the Java functionality developed by other Persons in my webdynpro project. Then what you will do .Instead of writing the code in your project ,use the existing functionality of code .Thats why create a DC of type webdynpro and declare the use of Java DC component in the meta data.
For Reusability, transportation, flexibility they introduced a DC Concept.Project is the one its individual to a certain Programming techniques.

Hi,
DC will have exactly same structure except "DC Metadata" which is used for declaring public part( can be used by other DCs) and Used DC declaration.
Reuse is promoted using DCs.
