Hi,
Can anybody shade some light to create the folders under /Entry Points of KM Content.
We are using Portal 7.0 SP12. KM is installed as a part of Portal installation.
When we checked the KM Content, there was no option for creating New folders.
Please suggest a way forward.
Thanks for your inputs and time.
Kind Regards,
Anil Kumar
Hi Anil Kumar - in general you won't be creating anything in the Entry Points repository, since this repository aggregates information from other areas in KM and displays them in a central location - the "write" operations generally take place somewhere else, the purpose of this repository is to pull all that info together from different areas and allow end users easy access to taxonomies, common folders, favorites, etc. Each of these is maintained somewhere else.
This gives you an idea of what's available and where to maintain the actual information:

What is your scenario? Someone else just asked a very similar question because he is trying to broadcast to this folder from BI. Have a look in the recent threads for more on this:

Hi Boris,
Thank you for your help and response. You are exactly correct. We are trying to broadcast workbooks, queries, query views etc., into KM repositories.
After realizing that CM Repository View in Bex Broadcaster doesn't allow us to broadcast into KM root folder (i.e /documents)
We have created folders like CEO, Managers, President etc., under /documents.
we had added this folders in Content Management confugration using Entry Point provider to static folders.
But, it doesn't show up this folders hierarchy when are broadcasting into KM folders in Bex broadcaster. That was the reson we were trying to create an folders in Entry point iview of KM.
However, after after reading your posts. We came to an understanding that Entry point iview in KM serves special purposes which brings various information links scattered in different repositories into single point.
Your posts were very usefull. Thanks for the information.
But, can u explain even though after adding folder (/documents/CEO) using Entry Point provider to static folders. why it is not getting displayed ?
I hv set all the permissions. Thanks once again.Looking forward to your responses.
Regards,
Anil Kumar.
Hi Anil Kumar - have you tried creating the "commonfolders" folder under /documents as it is described here?
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/e4/9a7440d76e6e1de10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
Then, if you create <b>links</b> in that folder to your individual folders (CEO, Managers), they should show up under "/Entry Points/Common Folders".
Does the broadcaster then allow you to publish to that location? Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to try out the broadcaster myself.
I'm not sure about the static provider.
I think you are already aware of SAP Note 1002104 as well.
Anil Kumar - to configure a static folder to appear, follow the instructions at the bottom of this page
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/f6/da3340284e7a56e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
It should then appear as long as the permissions are correct and you've entered the full path to the folder as it appears in KM. Does this work for you?
Hi,
Check this: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/e2/2d354036052c22e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
Use 'Entry Point Provider for Static Folders'.

Hi Gabriel,
Thank you for your input and response. I hv checked the documented and also verified the same by using Content Management confugration ('Entry Point Provider for Static Folders')
However, when I logged in as End used it is not displayed in Entry point iview. (Eu_standardRole >>> Documents >>> Overview). But, the folder is not getting displayed.
Will I need to restart the J2ee server. Please any other alternate solutions.
Thanks once again.
Regards,
Anil Kumar
