Usage of Enterprise search with NW releases earlier than 7.0

Hello,

I wonder if it is possible to integrate the new Enterprise Search of NetWeaver 7.0 (currently in Ramp-up) into earlier NetWeaver releases(e.g. 2004).

That means only the enterprise search would be at the NW.70 level and the other components would be bellow this release.

Hi,

NetWeaver Enterprise Search comes as an appliance, i.e. software is bundled together with hardware. Besides customization of settings and connectors the appliance should not be touched. So there's no need to directly integrate it with other components. In future versions NetWeaver Enterprise Search will offer web-service-based APIs for integration with existing components.

NW Search will be supported with a ABAP based local search utility shipped in Support Pack and covers releases as of 4.6C and higher.
