need to connect another SQL DB from SAP with the help of SM59

We need to connect another SQL Database ( MS SQL SERVER 2005) from SAP with the help of SM59,

Is it by ODBC or any other program, how it can be configured by Sm59 ?

Anybody has any clue,

Hello Al Mamun,

SM59 is for RFC (remote function call).

If you are looking for ODBC-like connection, would you consider Tcode DBCO, then use native ABAP code to connect to the remote SQL server?

Hi,

as Victor mentioned, SM 59 is not the appropriate way. Please consult SAP Note 738371 - Creating DBCON multiconnect entries for SQL Server. Also have a look at the referenced notes at the bottom of the note. That should give you an idea on how to proceed.
