Hi Basavaraj,

Below are the steps required to copy text from Business partner Master data to other transactions:

Pre-requisite: U have maintained text in the business partner master data ( Tab Long Text and for some text type eg. 0001)

1. Create a text determination Procedure

Customer Relationship Management  Basic Functions  Text Management  Define Text Determination Procedure

a. Select object CRM_ORDERH and click on Procedure.

b. Click on new entry and add your text type ( Text types are created from Customer Relationship Management  Basic Functions  Text Management  Define Text Objects and Text Types)

2. Create an access sequence

a. Go to Access sequence and create a new entry.

b. Go to Definition of access sequence. Put reference object as BUT000 and Ref Text type as 0001 ( or the text type frm which u wish to copy)

c. Go to assignment of fields. Add new entry, choose key field partner and Comm. field as Sold- to Party.

**This setting tells you which partner text is to be picked up.

3. Assign access sequence to text type ( added in step 1)

Go to definition of procedure and assign the access sequence there.

4. Do not forget to assign the text determination procedure to transaction type.

Wish this solves the purpose.

Hi Basavaraj,

Once you have done as per Shalini and assigned the access sequnce to the text type, you will also need to enter value under the TRANSFER column and if you press F4, you can find copy and use this and then it will understand to copy the data from the source.

Thanks

Hi Srini,

Thanks for the reply,

I have assigned TRANSFER to the text type, But system could not copy the tect to lead transaction & also giving message as below when I run the transaction Check Text Customizing for Consistency

System Message:

Key structure (length 64) too long for log (maximum 53)

Message no. COM_TEXT_CUST174

Diagnosis

You have flagged a text type as a log text. This means the text is saved with a time stamp. Since this time stamp is also stored in the text key, the text key is now too long.

System Response

Text types for this object cannot be flagged as log texts using the current text key.

Procedure

If you want to flag this text type as a log text, you must define a new shorter structure for the text key. The maximum length is specified in the message.

Any Functional module to be used for this????

Hi Basavaraj,

there could be some problem with the object text type and text ID and you will have other options to set for them.

i suggest you copy the standard and see.

when you create or copy, it will have to be check marked few options next to the text type, so check them and they will be causing this problem

thanks

Hi Experts,

But the text is copied from BP (Sold to party) to Sales order transaction but not from BP to Lead or opportunity.

I think this problem is due to communication structure CRMT_TEXT_ORDER_H_COM does'nt contain field 'PROSPECT' but it contains 'SOLD TO PARTY' so system is copying text from BP to sales order.

We have appended the same structure with Prospect but still problem persists.

Helpful solutions would be rewarded max. points.

Hi basavaraj did u tried the Copy process or Manually copying?but it is too lengthy way to solve the solution it takes too much of time copying transactions to Flat file again from Importing flat file in to Sap systems, otherwise follow the SAP standard Copy process in transactions.
