when we can use the tranaport protocol NFS and FTP? What is the difference between them?
Hi Sudhakar,
If you are placing or getting the file from FTP Server then u have to use FTP Protocol. If the files are placing or getting from application server we can use NFS protocol.

Here I would like to add as NFS stand for Network File system and as the name suggest is used to send / receive the file from Local Folder of the XI Server.
If we select NFS as the Transport Protocol it doesn't asks for Connection Parameters(as it does in case of FTP) like server, port, username ,password etc bcoz the location is local to the XI Application Server.

Hi Sudhakar,
When you are suppose to send/receive the file from third party then we use the FTP protocol.
NFS protocol is used when you are going to put the test file on application server and the target file is generated on application server.
While using the NFS protocol, you can use the tocde SXDA_TOOLS (with parameters DXPROJECT, BAPI, CREATE and then press the copy button) to put the test file on application server directory.

NFS - The file is present on the XI file system
FTP - An FTP server is installed usually on a remote computer which is accessible to the XI system.
