CO experts,
Last few days my colleague accidentally make one of the inventory change
account (520060) as primary cost element
(category 1) and there are transactions to this account after the creation
of this cost element. Now the problem is
when there is a transaction for movement type 555/553/551, SAP gives an
error say Gl acct 520060 need a cost object.
This account shouldn't be an cost element and I want to delete it but SAP
won't allow me do that because there is history,
I received a message saying that "KS133 - Deletion is not possible
(dependent records exist in table COEP)".
Do anyone of you know how to delete a cost element that already have
transactions ? Your advice is needed.
Rgds,
Dear All,
Solution to this issue is go to KA02 change the analysis period like if the cost element was created 1.4.2007 to 31.12.9999 change has a 1.4.2008 to 31.12.9999 and save it. now we can delete the cost element from 1.4.2008 to 31.12.9999.

let me clear one thing the gl 60555 was revenue gl account by mistake i was made has a cost element. recently when we are doing billing its asking the CO Object, i think assigning the cost objective is the only one solution for this, we are assigned on default cost in cost elemt. it will gives any reflect.

> Rgds,
Hi
Once posting is done to a cost element there is no way that you can delete a cost element. You need to find out ways and means of getting out of this situation. Reverse the posting and lock the GL account for further postings to this account. Create another GL account and make the assignment to the concerned movement type (in OBYC). ONCE POSTINGS ARE MADE TO A COST ELEMENT YOU CAN NEVER DELETE A COST ELEMENT.

Two things can be done,
1. Change the field satus group of the Gl account and remove the Account assignement Cost Centre from required to suppressed.
2. Transfer the posting from that account to other account make the balance zero and edit the cost element.

Hi,
Once posting is done for cost element, u can delete.
Better suggestions for using of gl account
1. Make default assignment of Cost objective.
Then we can use this gl account for automatic positngs also
or
2. Block this gl account for postings and create a new gl account and assign this gl account for automatic postings.
If helpful assign points.
Thanks & Regards
Sunitha.
