need coding for a USER DEFINED FUNCTION

Hi friends,

I have one requirement.. that when ever my scenario was successully processed.. (file to file scenario) i need to raise a ALERT message that is.. <b>Successfully Finished</b>.. otherwise.. it should raise a <b>Errors occured during Scenario</b>.. These messages i want to display IN A DIALOG BOX for my scenario.. i dont want to send these to mail.. in xi itself i want to display these messages in the dailog box..

for this requirement what can i do.. my scenario is with out BPMs, so, can u explain with clear steps.. is there any USER DEFINED FUNCTION IS REQUIRED OR with that UDF 's also can we do.. and where can we do other settings..
