Background Job

Experts,

I need to check the status of a job i.e background job which got created. The info i am given is The job name (ZFIPAYMENT) and the Job status (Submitted successfully).

Can someone guide me to check whether the program run without any errors or if it has not run, can i run it in foreground.

All answers would be duly appreciated and rewarded with points.

HI Nandita,

Please go to transaction SM37, give the job name and the user name and also the dates the program /job was executed or you need to check the status on.

On preseeing F8 , it tells you the status of the job, the job log, any spool list associated.

Jobs cannot be executed in foreground, you can execute a program in foreground if the execution time is less else it would time out.

For finding the program name associated with your job, go to steps and you can see the program name, then use the menu path goto-> variants to find the variant and use the same in the program, and schedule the program in background.

go to SM37..

fill in batch job name, user name which created this job. You can type * for all.

then select your batch job >> click job log button.
