Releasing Supply Plans to DP using RTSCOPY

We have an issue where the batch job that releases supply plans from SNP to DP (time series to time series using /sapapo/rtscopy) cancels if anyone is logged in edit mode in DP planning book. Is there a way this can be circumvented ? We have set the planning area for all the locks and have tried all permuation combinations. However the job still cancels out if anyone is logged in DP.

You may try following,

Before executing the transaction, run one Zprogram which will check the user log into the DP planning book and stop their transaction send mail to them for information.

thats the reason these type of programs run after office hrs in background.

i remember a client where we used to run a set of steps

1. Send message to users to log out

2. Wait for 45 minutes

3. Kick out all users in DP planning area (Z program)

4. Start /SAPAPO/RTSCOPY

Thanks for your answers. Somehow I am unable to reconcile in my mind why planners should log out of DP. Our implementation is global in nature with planners accessing APO from many different time zones, there is hardly a time window when no user is logged on. The release needs to happen in between the week for planners to have adequate reaction time in terms of managing the plans. This definitely looks to be a flaw.
