Now, you gotta bear this somewhat stale one -
A Texan, a Kajakh and a Newyorker went for dinner together. After they ordered, the waitress returned to the table and said
" Excuse me, but we have a shortage of red meat. Would you consider ordering something else?'
With a puzzled look the texan asked - 'What is shortage?'
Equally puzzled, the Kazakh asked - What is meat?
And the newyorker - 'What is "Excuse me"'?
