speeding up the upgrade

i am upgrading from 4.7 enterprise to ecc6

we are using resource time minimized and it takes forever. I know there are a couple of parameters during the upgrade that canbe increased to speed up the upgrade. Is it the maximum number of batch processes this is currently set to 3 and the number of parallel table importers is set to 1.

Can these be increased to speed up the upgrade

If you use only one table importer, it will sequentially import all the export CDs, this will take a LONG time.

Depending on available hardware resources I usually use one R3load and one batch per CPU + one additional, so in an 8-way system I use 8 table importers and 9 batch processes. This is, however, database dependent, I know, that Oracle doesn´t support more than 3 R3loads during upgrade, other databases do (I really never understood the reason behind that logic).
