Role Expert BAPIs

Hi Experts,

when I run the "Org Value Sync" batch job in the Role Expert 5.2 I get the following error in the NWA's Logs and Traces:

"/VIRSA/RE_BAPI_ORG_VALUES function template not found on <System>".

Troubleshooting in the backend system indicates that there is actually the BAPI "/VIRSA/RE_BAPI_ORG_IDS" installed but not the above mentioned BAPI.

Is this a known error, perhaps related to side effects of SPs?

FYI: The Real-Time-Agent (VIRSANH) is on the actual patch level 0005 and the Java components are on SP level 12 (13 exists).

Does your back-end system have HR components (System->Status..Details)? If so, you need to have the HR RTAs installed.

SAP_HR is installed on my backend-systems.

My question is now whether I need the HR RTA only or both HR and non-HR RTA installed on the system....

SAPNote 1086823 covers this question and recommends the installation of the HR-RTA only but is published for the 4.0 release. The <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/0079de64-f5f1-2910-3688-b16619da82fb">5.2 preimplementation guide</a> however seems to advise the installation of both RTAs (page 6).

So....who to trust?

Martin,

that Note is definitely wrong for 5.2 (it's for 4.0 anyway...).

You need to install both if your system has HR components installed.

If you should still get the error, try giving the RTA user SAP_ALL and check if the problem persists.

All your SAP systems you connect to GRC should have the NH RTA installed. The ones with HR components, will also need the HR component.

After installing the second RTA the implied BAPI is now available.

So, time for further troubleshooting
