If the organisation has so many distribution channels and divisons then also SD module smoothens functions of Sales department. SD module help you manage sales trancations with your customers and within your company. SD module is useful to the organisations having multi products and multi selling points in different places and having different credit controls for different customers etc.
If the organsiation does have that much transactions in SD, then they can manage SD transactions with GL only. Can post invoice directly in FB70
You can create invoices directly in FI (FB70) and print them by using correspondence.
However, normally when SD is not in use an external system is used for the sales transactions. The financial documents are uploaded periodically then to SAP.
