I need to restrict the contents displayed for the user during the prsonalization of the page. For eg, need to show only certain pages and iviews to the user and not all.
HI Pavitra
You can restrict the pages or iViews in Portal Personalize Page.
Check the Personalize Role that is assigned for the Users or Groups.
Open the Role in Editor and then open the pages or iViews those you want to hide.
Make the "Invisible in Navigation Area " iView or Page property to "Yes"
Cheers.....

Hi,
simply right click the object which you want to block -> select permissions -> and remove all the permissions inherited.
Then provide the user ids which you want to give access( also select End user check box)
If you want to block access to someone, put his id and select none from dropdown box.

you have to set the permissions for the folders in portal content in such a way that the user is not able access it. By default, portal_content is available for everyone.
If you go to Content Administration --> Portal Content. If you view the properties of the "Portal Content" folder, you will find that permissions are set for everyone. So you need to first remove everyone from the list. Once that is done, you have to set specific permissions in your set of folders so that not everyone can view them when personalizing the page.

Hi,
But that is the purpose why role is used. Restricting users to see only the required pages or iViews. But if u have same role to many users but want personalization there, u may have to do some custom implementation.
