Payroll re-start in SAP after a gap

Hi all,

My client has been using SAP US-PY earlier for some time. Then the PY was stopped in SAP and was done only in some external means. So the last payroll run for the PY area US is Jan of 2006.

But now, the again want to continue running PY in SAP but only from the current period onwards and not the period that elapsed between Jan 2006 and Sep 2007.

Can someone please explain how can go about doing this?

Useful answers will surely be rewarded.

Thanks,

Sam

You should controll it via control record.

alternative may lists like terminating and rehiring on the first day of the period you are running on SAP.

I think Controll record and/or IT 3 is best suited in this sceniorio.

Hey Rizwan,

Thanks for the response. But wanted to let you know that terminating and re-hiring is ruled out. We dont wanna do that.

Instead, we too thought of modifying IT0003. But we are not sure of the impacts that it might have on the cluster tables.

Thanks,

HI,

Then try to create another Payroll area.

And the previous one mention as Non Payroll Relevent. & Exit the Payroll Run.

And in IT0001 from the current date create another record with new payroll area.

Try this

Hi, nops..this wont help. If we do that then there will be discontinuity in the PY results between the old PY area and the new one.

Thanks,

Sam

You could apply an action to everyone that changes status to 'inactive' for the Jan 2006 to Sep 2007. And then another action that would make them active again from Sep 2007.

Whatever method you choose, if you're going to do year end reports you will need to update wagetypes with YTD figures. Search for data take on notes in OSS.
