You will have to identify the datasource in the R/3 system an proceed as indicated in the previous posts.

If you don't have a datasource, then you will have to create it. For doing so, try this:

In the R/3 system:

1. Identify tha transparent table for the master data you want to upload. (Generally there are 2 tables: 1 for master data and 1 for texts).

2. Go to transaction RSO2

3. Type the name of the datasource you want to create in the field for "Master Data Attributes" (if you want to extract texts, use "Texts") and click "Create".

4. Assign the Applic. Component, all descriptions (short, medium, long and the table (must be transparent table) or view where the data is and click "extraction from view".

5. Select which fields will be available for selection on the infopackage (for filtering purposes).

6. Click save

In the BW system:

1. Go to transaction RSA1

2. Go to Source Systems

3. Identify your R/3 source system, double click it and browse for the applic. Component where you stored the datasource.

4. Right click it and select "replicate datasources"

After completing this steps, the datasource you created for the master data will be available in your BW system. Now you need to connect it to an infosource as explained on the previous posts.

  • If you need to load attributes and texts, you will probably need (most cases do) to create one datasource for master data (attributes) and another datasource for texts.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

In the Administrative work bench

Infosource -> application area-> create infosource it will ask ur flexi or direct

select direct update for master data -> give the fields in infosource structure the attributes of master data i9nfoobject-> and then assign the data source of the particular source systems.

create ip and load it.

And the most common erors are

1) lock not set: this is deut to the locking of the infoobject by another process at that particular points of time.

remedy: wait until the locked process is released and then repeat the load.

2) locked due to terminated change run:

this is normally occur because terminate change run that is an attribute change run is hapenign and simultaneously if u try to load then it will occur.

now wait until the changed run is completed and then re run th road.

some times the lock might not be released even though the attribute change run is completed at this time you have to manually delete the locks

for this we need to run the FM RSDDS_AGGR_MOD_STATE_GET to get all the objects locked by attribute change run

to release them run the FM RSDDS_AGGR_MOD_CLOSE to release them.

3) duplicate master data: maintain error handling in infopackage

4) PSA fledge: correct the error data records in pds and then upload them

5) special characters: try to identify and eliminate them if urgent go to rskc and maintain the special characters

Hope this helps

Hi

1.Goto RSA1 -> Infosources -> right click on your application component -> create infosource.

2. Since it is master data info-object you can choose the direct update and select your Info-object.

3.Assign the source system to your Infosource and Create your transfer rules now.

4.Activate the transfer rules and Infosource.

5.Now right click on the transfer rules and create infoapckage.

6.Schdeule the infoapckage and load.

Hope this Helps
