what is the difference between NACE AND NAST??
Explain pls.

venu.
NACE it is a tcode to define your output types.
NAST is a table, which stores the entires configured in NACE ,ex. Output type etc

Hi
NACE is the Transaction code where we assign the Output type to Script/smartform and the Driver program
NACE is the Tcode used to link the Application type, Output Types and its processing Routines like ( Driver programs and attached Script forms or Smartforms).
You should know the Application of a document first Like:
for PO it is EF, for sales Doc's it is V1, for Delivery docs it is V2, for billing Doc's it is V3 etc.
so first select the Application type (ex: EF) for PO and press OUtput types
then a list will come in that you should know the related output type for PO.
in this case it is NEU,
select that and click on the processing Routines button on the left side
it will display the Medium, Driver Program and the Script form or smartform related to that document..
where as NAST is the table name in which an entry is created when we configure the Output type in the application document with the Medium, Partner, Lang and the printer
An entry in NAST table triggers the output type and in turn triggers the program and the form to give the output

Hi,
Use table NAST in program when you want to check specific values regarding printing or output type information.
I used to check NAST-KSCHL ( output type ) in sapscript or smartform ,
since NAST is retrieved by SAP when sapscript or smartform is called from standard transactions .
Table NAST is also useful if we would like to find out which program or sapscript or smartform is processed for specific output type, just entry the output type in SE16.
NACE is not a table, its a transaction . You can assign which output type related to which program/sapscript/smarfform here.
