Language DVD fo ECC 6.0 upgrade

Former Member

Hi All,

We are in process of doing the upgrade from 4.7-> Ecc 6.0, presently we are in Prepare module where we unable to go forword from Lang_select phase.

We have downloaded the CD from market place 51032235_1 to 6 and when we trying to give the mount points i'ts showing the error like wrong point points for Language export , and we are have two options continue or remove languages what will happen if we select remove langauages.

1) Is there any option to specify to install languages after upgrade.

2) Is there any other media to be downloaded for languages....

Please suggest...

Thanks,

Subhash.G

Check the logfile

cdtrace.log

in the upgrade directory, it will tell what it is searching for.

Thanks Markus,

I have searched the log file and found no matching label found for that CD mount point. We have tried with all the language CD still the same result.

Hi Markus,

Below is the content of the cdtrace.log. At the end of the phase it asks to either delete the language or mount the CD. Please suggest us as we are stuck at this phase.

Thanks,

Subhash

Do you use maybe the upgrade master CD of SR1 and the language CDs of version SR2? check the cdlabel.asc and label.asc on the upgrade master CD.

The only reason that I can imagine is, that you have a language installed, that is not part of the standard deliver (such as e. g. Hebrew or Farsi), is that the case?

Markus,

We have only EN and DE installed in the R/3. I checked in SMLT.

And report RSCPINST is showing only those two too?

This is all really strange...

Maybe a permission problem for the /softwardump mountpoint? (<sid>adm must be able to read)

I'm sorry.. I don't have any more idea...

What might help would be the output of UpgDialog.log - the last hundred lines or so, where one can see the problem.

What you can also do is an

ls -lt /usr/sap/put/log | more

and check also the other logfiles for any specific error.

I am not able to find the right Kernel DVD that you mentioned.

We are running on Solaris 64 bit SPARC.

Where did you download it from ?

Subash,

i had exactly same error with the upgrade. I spent allots of time trouble shooting. I also opened a ticket with SAP. I wasted 2 weeks on this error. The only way I was able to resolve this issue was to order the DVD's for the upgrade.

I copied the files from DVD and there is no issue what so ever with mount points.

I hope this will help.

KG

Language DVD again re downloaded from market place and that had solved our problem.
