how to control and monitor user access to the database

Hello All,

How to control and monitor user access to the database . We r on R/3 4.70 ENTERPRISE EDITION EXTENSION SET 1.10 and orale database with version 9.2 . Requested to revert at earliest as its urgent. Points guaranteed for the same .

May be it mean by contolling and monitoring SAP users.

What do you mean with that?

SAP uses ONE user to connect to the database, what do you want to "monitor"?

Act . in Basis Administration , i came across one CV which said , controlling and monitoring user access to the database , i didnt get its meaning so confirming with the experts abt wt exactly comes under this and wt it means?

Hi Soumya,

Fully agree with Sukrut.

Actually in sap only one user connects to db.

SAP users connect to dispatcher--->dispatcher assigns workprocess>Wp communicates with listener->server process is created---connection to db is established.

Which is tat user which connects to db ,can u provide me the name ?

Secondly only one user may connect to db but all users access the db through server processes na , so how do we control and monitor those users access to the database ?

Hi,

SAP <SAPSID> or SAPR3 user will have the access to DB.
