Hi there,
we are using MaxDB 7.5.00.32 on SLES 9 with 4.6.c. (All 64bit)
Our Data Cache Hitrate is decreasing from 99,5% to 97,3% during an 3/4 Year.
The Cache_Size is currently set to 505,41 MB.
There are up to 250 Users on this System. Database Size 65GB.
Unicode = No.
What are some real World Values for the Data_Cache for a DB like this?
I can increase the Data_Cache without any Problem. We have enough Memory free.
I just want to share some experiences. Maybe s.o.is using 1GB Cache for an DB Instance with the same size. 😃
Regards,
Manuel
If you have "enough memory free" I suggest to increase the value to the maximum availalbe level. Why slow down the system intentionally?
Your main database instance has 48 GB RAM, the CACHE_SIZE is set to 32 GB. Actually there are ~ 800 users logged on to the system.
