Hi All
I have freshly installed 4.6 C server on Windows 2000 and database is Oracle.
Now i want to shift the data from existing 4.6C server to this new server.
Is there any other procedure rather than backup/restore bec we are not going for the tape backup .
I am copying the datafiles manually.
Is there any other procedure for that.
Thanks
Sapna
check the following doc:
http://www.basisconsultant.com/docs/handbooks/homcopyv1.pdf
instead of backup/restore, just shutdown DB in source system and copy datafile, controlfiles and all origlog/mirrlog to new server.

Yes - you can copy the files manually.
check the homegeneous system copy guides at
http://service.sap.com/systemcopy
for the procedure.
