Anyone run into this before...i havent seen this before..

would be very interesting if you take a look at the log file:

C:\Program Files\sapinst_instdir\ECC04SR1\WEBAS_ABAP_ORA_UC\DB\saplicense.log

Probably you will have more clues on what is the problem.

That way, it will not be necessary to call Harry Potter to do some magic

Yes i can do a r3trans -x this is the output..

C:\usr\sap\PRD\SYS\exe\run>r3trans -x

This is r3trans version 6.09 (release 640 - 26.10.04 - 15:45:42).

unicode enabled version

r3trans finished (0000).

What now..?

Can you execute the command by hand in a cmd.exe?

That command just prints the contents of the saplicence.log file..

What you can try is, to download the newest saplicense patch from the service marketplace and replace it with the mentioned one.

Some extra information here..this is a mcod install, i have a separate instance with XI and bw installed...this is the prd instance.....is it possible my licence key doesent have a licence for this..?

As for the patch for the licence, i havent done that before...Can i please get some pointers on that..

The MCOD thing shouldn't be a problem, if R3trans -x connects to the correct schema (check the trans.log) it shouldn't be an issue.

Try the following:

go to

http://service.sap.com/patches

--> Entry by Application Group

--> SAP NetWeaver

--> SAP NETWEAVER

--> SAP NETWEAVER 04

--> Entry by Component

--> Application Server ABAP

There step into the directory of your platform (unicode - non-unicode, 32/64 bit)

--> # Database independent

And download there the latest

saplicense*.SAR file

Copy that file to your system to a temporary directory and execute in a cmd.exe:

sapcar -xvf <filename>.SAR

This will unpack a saplicense.exe, copy that one to the directory where the other one resides and retry your installation.

I replaced the saplicense.exe with the latest one downloaded ...ran the install again...failed again with the same error, and code....Strange..

Little more investigation and i found the problem......MCOD install....different SID`s....licence i had was valid for c12 not for prd.....ahha..........the sap installer runs some c code to check for that...

connection 0 opened (DBSL handle 0)

License index MLICHECK0 not found( - ok)

License index MLICHECK__0 not found( - ok)

License index MLICHECK~I1 not found( - ok)

Old license index not dropped...(rc: -111)

Database vendor is ORACLE

Let me now figure out to get a separate licence for the prd system......

The system is trying to install a TEMPORARY license during installation, you add the real license later.

Not by default. I don't know if the installation was successful until now since I just see two lines of traces.

I suggest to open an OSS call and let someone from SAP look onto the system to fix the error.

take a look at the logs and maybe there is a reason why the mlicheck failed
