LSMW - How SHDB is useful

Hi all,

Please tell me how SHDB is used in case of data migration in conjuction with LSMW?

Please tell the step by step procedure.

You do not need SHDB for LSMW. You should use the recording function available in LSMW. LSMW does not use the recordings done in SHDB.

there is no need of shdb for recording. you can directly record in lsmw. From the toolbar, select goto-> recordings..

Hi Ganesh,

Recordings in SHDB cannot be used in LSMW. Instead BDC programs can be developed using these recordings which are very useful when you need to change the screenfields and LSMW donot allow to to change certain screen fields.

It cannot be used in LSMW. However, you can generate a BDC program in SHDB itself using the recording. However, more ABAP work is required on this program to make it usable (like getting it to read a file, convert some data, etc)
