SolMan, ERP, MCOD - Can <DBSID> be same?

I want to install SolMan system and ERP system on the same machine. Both of the systems use the same Oracle database (MCOD) which also resides on the same machine.

I know I have to give different SIDs to SolMan and ERP systems. Can I give the same DBSID to both the systems or should I have to use different DBSIDs?

I assume database schemas names have to be different. Can I use the same name for ABAP and Java users for both the systems? Are there any other parameters I have to be careful with to avoid namespace clash?

Good info. will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Andrew,

You better have two different DBSID's by installing 2 Databases seperately. That's right you canot share same DB schema for two installations.

Hari.

Hari, I tried with 2 different DBSIDs. Installation got messed up.

Later I realized that for a MCOD installation, there should be only one DBSID.
