Material price variance

Dear SRMers,

System Information: SRM 4.0, R/3 4.6c

Classic scenario and using IPC

The price of a material on the Shopping cart line item says $33,000, in SRM commpr01 it is $58,000 and the Moving average Price in R/3 for that plant is $28,000.

So I am not sure from where it is picking up the $33,000 on the shopping cart line item, as there is a variance of $5000 from the Moving average Price.

Is the IPC calculating a new price? Any ideas?

Hi Bob,

If you are picking up the material from catalogue, then i would say check for catalogue price.

Otherwise check for any info record available for the material, which says $33000.

Last option will be check whether any earlier SC has been created with $33,000 price because that might have updated either an Info record in R/3 after creation of PO or IPC price of the material.
