Activate BI content without the BW and CRM connection ?

Hi Everyone,

I have a question and need your help:

Is there any potential problem if I activate BI content without the BW connection with sournce systeim. i.e. I need to activate some CRM cubes/ods/master data from BI content before SAP CRM and BW connection is setup, any problem if I do that?

hi,

you can definitely activate cubes/ods/master data it will have no problem.But while u try to activate update rules for the same you would need the infosources active.

And for the infosources you would need the datasources replicated to BW and an active connection to the source system.

So as a better practice it is advisable to have the source system connection active before you activate these objects.
