MRP and PM purchase requisitions converted to Shopping Carts

We are passing MRP and PM based purchase requisitions created in R/3 to SRM to be converted into shopping carts. Currently these shopping carts go directly to approved status and create another purchase requisition in R/3. We really only want to do our approvals in ONE system SRM.

I realize that it is standard for it to work this way but is there a way that we can have our MRP and PM created purchase requisitions turned into shopping carts and approved in SRM via the workflow process?

Hi Steven,

I assume you are implementing Extended classic scenario.

Your client requirements are genuine but why can't you have approval workflow for PO, which is getting created from these SCs.

You are trying to use SRM for sourcing in this case, where in vendor, price, delivery dates, etc will be inserted into SC before creation of PO in SRM.

If an extra level of SRM PO approval process is implemented, I think Business purpose of approval requirement will be satisfied.
