New Functionality in NW 2004s

Dear SDN

We have recently upgraded from BW3.1c to SAP NW2004s (without implementing the Javastack). Can anyone tell me what new functionality is available with just a technical ABAP upgrade? Specific areas are BEx Analyser/Information Broadcasting/Web Application Designer etc.

Most of the front end functionalities won't be there without java stack, WAD will work with the old functionality, Broadcasting won't work, the new functionalities (Report designer, and new front end tool won't work).

In backend, all the functionalities will work.

I have been told that some features of Broadcasting will work as it was available at 3.5? Also, we have switched some front ends to the new 'look and feel' in Development and it seems to work ok.

hi Kirsty,

the old Braodcaster (3.5) will work. But he will not be able to produce PDF, but it can send Webtemplates and Queries.

In 7.0 you can make use of BIA also in OLD Queries. You can use the new Query Designer to build your queries, which can be used also in Analyzer and Web Templates.
