Hello Chandra,

Oliver is correct here. The Web Application Server is the platform on whihc the Portal runs \ and or is integrated into. The Portal is installed as a Usage Type of Netweaver the same as you can install BI-JAVA, PI etc onto the Web AS.

Hi Chandra,

SAP NW Portal(Enterprise Portal) server and SAP Web Application Server are quite different. You access EP/Portal from Internet explorer where as Web AS you will be accessing it with SAP GUI windows.

Hari.

Hi,

I don't really agree with you.

I would say that SAP NW Portal is an application (usage type) running on Web as java (called now Netweaver application server java stack).

You will not access Web as java with sapgui !

Yes I go with Oliver , There are two usage type JAVA and ABAP. Portal is running on Web As Java ( now AS Java ) . Only the ABAP stack can be accessed by GUI
