Hi All,

Please correct me if i'm wrong. One prerequisite of installing NW2004s is that you must use windows server or another operating systems that is compatible and NOT windows

XP.

Please let me know.

Thanks.

To find out the oracle services.

Please go to the Start--> run and enter services.msc

You will get a list of services running on your windows Server.

Now search for Services with the name starting with oracle.(it should be oracle TNS, ORACLE AGENT, ORACLE HTTP). Stop all these services and when you right click these services --> properies , then you will get the path for it.

Hi,

In this scenario what I wud suggest you to uninstall the complete Oracle database and software using the OUI installer.

Next is you need to delete the services created on windows OS level.

Next is you can delete the Oracle entry created in windows Registery.

Last is delete the Oracle folders created on OS level manually,.

Please maintain the sequence.

If you are installing Oracle database for your ECC6 installtion you have to select create a new database...This will create a new database with whatever SID you give at a later stage...say DEV...

Hi Selvan,

While installing Oracle (i.e before installation of SAP Central Instance & Database Instance), you need to install ONLY the database software.

The Creation of database is done by SAP from the Export CDs.

@ Bidwan: Why have you suggested him to create a New Database.

It should have been - only database software! ...

Right-click on "My Computer" to select Properties.

Click the "Advanced" tab.

Click the "Environment Variable" button.

Scroll down the "System variables" list to the "Path" variable.

Double click on "Path"

Press the "End" key

Type (beginning with a semicolon separator) ;....path of oracle/bin

Click "OK"

Click "OK" to close the System Properties window.

Now Add 2 more System Variables using the "New" Button

ORACLE_SID and ORACLE_HOME

Hope this helps!
