TREX and SRM-MDM

Hi,

Can anyone shed some light on whether or not TREX can be used with SRM-MDM? Or is it only used in CCM?

Hello Shayne,

SRM-MDM Catalog does not require the TREX. MDM Server itself can be integrated with TREX for following scenarios.

+ Search function for PDF attachment text ( with TREX )

+ keyword search with dictionary ( with INXIGHT which is dictionary used in TREX )

Hello Shayne,

My comment was PDF file in MDM attachment table.

For contract search, please check the online documentation. There is TREX integration.

Thanks, I've done the config i.e. created the RFC destination, defined the backend systems and run report BBP_TREX_INDEX_ADMIN but can't seem to find the TREX Search functionality anywhere for the contract search?

Hi

As far as I know, <b>TREX is mandatory used in CCM</b>. CCM uses SAP Catalog Authoring Tool available in SAP Catalog Search Engine.

<u>However, TREX can be used with SRM-MDM. It is optional. MDM covers in-built mechansim used in TREX functionality.</u>
