Upgrade Oracle to 10.2.0.2

Former Member

Hi,

I have successfully installed IDES on Windows 2003 and the default Oracle version is 10.2.0.1

How do I upgrade it to 10.2.0.2? How do I run the Oracle Universal Installer that came with the 10.2.0.2 DVD ?

Should I copy the contents from the DVD "patch" folder to the C: drive and run from there?

Pls help.

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Interesting that you got that installation to work since it´s not supported, the installation guide (and the corresponding notes) state, that you need at least 10.2.0.2

Check the following notes how to upgrade:

871735 - Current patch set for Oracle 10.2.0

871096 - Oracle Database 10g: Patch sets/patches for 10.2.0

Hi Markus,

Thanks for the reply.

I have read both the notes and also 839187.

How do I run the Oracle Universal Installer (OUI) to install 10.2.0.2?

on Windows you use setup.exe to start Oracle Universal Installer, on UNIX runInstaller, or do I understand your question wrong?

See please the SAP Note:

For example, Oracle_patchsetup.exe

the Path to the patch set software shouldn't be too long, otherweise Installar doesn't start.
