Hi Selvan,
That should not be a problem. Seperate disks will be helpful for your log files that will be generated. examples will be ur database redo log files
suppose a disk failure happens , not all data are lost:), u wud still have data in other disk..
Hope, these information were help..
any points given would be appreciated..
Kind regards,
sundar

Hi Selvan,
First of all, I think you would require a server based operating system to get your sap system working smoothly. Windows 2000 advanced server or windows 2003 enterprise edition will be the ideal choice ( Microsoft OS)
File system must be NTFS
You need to adjust the paging file
based on your RAM size, it must be 4 times the size of RAM. (Max of 20GB..)
should have 3 disks of 30 GB each
Java jsdk is required beacuse sapinst will use it.
Goto System Properties -> Advanced -> Environment Variable ->
under "system variable" click new
-
Variable Name : JAVA_HOME
variable value: <path of Jsdk >, eg: c:\jsdk1.4
ok
-
add java home directory to the path variable
under system variable, select "path " click "edit"
enter " %JAVA_HOME%\bin at the end of the variable value.
ok
Now you are set to start the SAP installation.....
Kind regards,
Sundar
