Hi All,
Can anybody let me know the purpose of transformation tab in matching mode
of data manager.
Here, I can see the records are not getting transformed.Hence, please let me the purpose of transformation tab.

Priti
Hi,
Transformations do NOT change any existing record.
Transformations work only for the Matching Mode. They create "virtual" fields that can be used within a matching rule. You can recognize those fields by their name: they are named like your transformation and have an [XFM] as suffix.
Did you have a look at page 477 Matching Strategy Definition - transformations ?:of this doc:
https://websmp108.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700006291592006E
below in the same doc you will find more info about rules and strategies
hope this is what you're looking for....

Hello Priti,
Transformations allow you to create one or more transformed fields as
part of the matching process. A transformed field is a virtual field whose
values are based on normalizing and cleansing the values of an actual
field. The transformed field can then be referenced when defining
matching rules.
Transformations and transformed fields allow you to eliminate syntactic
differences in the data that might otherwise interfere with the matching
process and thereby prevent MDM from recognizing two semantically
equivalent values as being the same.
