I Need One Simple And sample Real time Req. For IDOC To File Scenario.

Please Give the Requirement to do this Scenario.

Please Expalin me Clearly.

Hi Babu,

I can tell you a very simple scenario which is used in IDOC to File conversion.

Normally in SAP, based on Customer requirements Purchase order will be created for several plants which may go to the same vendor.

This Vendor is going to be a 3rd party system for SAP.

These purchase orders will be generated in the form of IDOC's in SAP by a simple Batch program running in SAP side.

As you know SAP XI is going to act as a middleware which is going to transfer these customer requirements to Vendor.

But IDOC format is not understandable by Vendor systems because its a non-SAP system which wont follow IDOC struture.

So XI will come into picture which will convert the data from IDOC format into file format which is understandable by 3rd party system.

If you take into account most of the data exchange happening between SAP and non-SAP systems IDOC to File conversion will be coming into picture.

Hi,

There is a very specific requirement in Retail Domain. In Retail, you require distributed data processing because the Point-of-Sale (POS) applications in retail store, distributed over a wide geographic region, require connectivity to the backend system. Now, the POS applications understand data provided only in typical formats, say, .CSV file. And the back end SAP understands IDoc only. Also, the structure of the messages are different. So, to facilitate proper communication between the back end and front end systems, SAP XI needs to be used. When we are transferring the business data from SAP backend to POS front end, it becomes an IDoc-To-File scenario.

Here is the one real time requirement

If you want to send master data to MDM(Master data MGMT) repository. Now the data is in R/3 system... suppose u want to send Material data to MDM.. for extracting this data from R/3 you can make use of basic type MATMAS..

now MDM only understands file.. that means u can import this data into MDM from file

Here comes role of XI to convert IDOC to File so tht MDM can import it

Hi Naga,

Consider you have third party systems, which can only understand the data in text file or csv format. These data have to be sent from R3 systems. The third party system cannot understand the IDoc of the SAP systems so this IDoc should somehow converted to the format understandable by the other system hence we go for the IDoc to File scenario.

File to IDoc scenario comes in to picture in vice-versa.

Go thru the blogs that was suggested by the others.

Also note that configurations should be done in R3 systems to send the IDoc to XI.

like take a Example of MM_XI _Portal Integration

you data is in MM Server in Idoc ... you have to send this Idoc to Portal for End user

above scenario you have to use MM(IDoc)_XI_File Scenario ..

real time scenario i have done for a Client.....

Hi,

One real time requirement for IDOC to File.

one small senario were we are creating Production order and after creating production order that order should be released so client want that relased order sholud be stored in vendor system, then we have to create an IDOC to File senario.In Co02 transaction if the order number is release then IDOC will be generated and that data will be stored in legacy system in XML format.

this is the simple requirement.

Suppose u need some data from R/3 in csv format...then u cannot get it directly from R/3..u have to go for following scenario....
