file adapter..

while I am trying to access the FTP folder using file adapter I am getting the following error. From previous threads on SDN I came to know that this may be due to FTP Server can't work through firewalls. ?? Is it correct ?? what settings that I should do to work this ??

java.net.SocketException: Connection reset

Yes it could be.

For this first check whether u can ping the ftp server from ur XI system. And also check the authorization of the user for the FTP server.

Hi,

When you are trying to access a remote system a connection has to be established between your XI system and remote system.

Normally a connection will be kept open for a particular amount of time and once that time is elapsed the connection is automatically dropped.

So first check with the remote system whether any such properties are mentioned which makes the connection terminate automatically.
