Br*tools shows Db stopped in AIX

Hi All

I'm working on a heterogeneous envin. We have CI on windows and DB on AIX machine with RAC configured. When we schedule db check in DB13 we are getting an error, “SXPG could not be started - reason x_error”.

There is lot of data migration going on and we need to check the DB statistics. Also when I start brtools on the AIX machine brtools shows Db as stopped (infact it's working). Also it’s not letting us do table space admin or backups using Br*tools, I think it is not able to connect to the RAC server properly. Every parameter has been defined and a common profile is being shared according to SAP notes and inst guides. Need advice on this, I’m trying a lot of things but none of them are working. We are not able to schedule any jobs through db13 especilally db check.

Warm Regards

Kaleem

Hello Kaleem,

Seems strange. Try upgrading the BRTOOLS to latest versions.

There are couple of things that you need to make sure:

1. Br*tools version is complying to the DB version.

2. The Br*tools have the correct permissions assigned to SIDADM and DBSID.

3. The environment variables are set right for DBSID and SIDADM.

4. The client version is complies to the Br*tools version.

If you could provide more specific details of your platform and versions, there is a possibilty to give more accurate answer and SAP notes #.

Thanks
