Hello Guys, I am wondering if any body could assist me in

~How to determine the Global IP address of R/3 application server 4.6c and 4.6d(kernel).

Whether my systems global IP would be same as the Sap R/3's Ip?

and

I want to connect to my Sap r/3 from remote, I have Sap Gui 6.4 Installed in my laptop, and I was thinking to enter this IP address in the GUI Pad so to connect to the Server Remotely,

could any one would help me how to connect.

I really appreciate that.

Hi marquis,

I am sure that SAP gui will also accept host names to connect. Did u try connecting with the host name of your SAP server instead of ip address?

regards,

Vinodh.

If you want to connect to SAP from remotely ( out of your company network ) , you need to have VPN connection or Citrix or setup SAP router string to accept connection. I dont think you can connect to your SAP remotely just by giving the IP address/ host name remotely

Thanks

Hi,

Login to the system.

Run TX: sm51--> system STATUS --> press the button "other kernel information" (next to navigation button)

you will get you r/3 IP address.

Using that you can enter the same in your laptop GUI.

Hope the information is useful.

Easwar Sivanandam.
