SM21 remote system log displays only CI

System is R/3 4.6C (4.6D EXT Kernel) on AIX 5 and Oracle 10.2. We have a central instance and one dialog server. SM21 central system log display shows entries from both instances. When we choose 'All remote system logs', only the central instance entries appear. When we choose 'Remote system log' and use the F4 help, only the central instance appears. This happens whether we run SM21 on the CI or the dialog server. If we type the dialog server instance name in the instance name field, it works like a champ.

We had some DNS issues earlier, but it's feeling much better now.

I might also mention that the system originated on HPUX and Oracle 8.1.7, and was migrated with RMAN. There is also a hostname alias that points back to the CI.

I'm at a loss, anybody have any ideas?
